Healthy Kids Wellness Challenge

The Ohio Healthy Kids Step-It-Up Challenge, sponsored by Health Action Council, the Ohio High School Athletic Association and Fitbit is a free wellness challenge held from October 18 thru October 31.

Ohio school superintendents can nominate one representative from their district to participate in the wellness challenge. Ohio Superintendents will receive their wellness kit in early October with details on how to register their representatives and log activity.

Healthy Kids Campaign sponsors include Health Action Council, UnitedHealthcare, CVS Pharmacy, OptumRx and Quantum Health have funded prizes for the inaugural competition.

Participants will compete against other district representatives in a two-week wellness challenge.

Healthy Kids Step It Up Challenge Prizes

  • Statewide Stepper - the overall winner earns a cash prize of $3,000 for health and wellness efforts in their school district.
  • Regional Steppers - one winner from each of the six OHSAA regions earns a $2,000 cash prize for health and wellness efforts in their districts.

“We want to provide a fun and safe way to stay healthy and active,"  says Doug Ute, Executive Director of OHSAA. "Not only will this get people moving, but we also created some healthy competition to earn money for their schools.
