A Day Of Promoting Health And Providing Funds To Local Schools
School leaders, healthcare benefits decision makers, and healthcare professionals gathered to participate in the 5th Annual Healthy Kids Golf Outing on Monday, October 7 at NorthStar Golf Club in Sunbury, Ohio. A day full of fun challenges, raffle prizes, and more, Health Action Council’s outing was the perfect way to help raise awareness for their Healthy Kids Initiative.
As the day concluded, the top three teams were announced, who generously donated their $500 winnings to the following schools: Eastern Local School District (Reedsville, Ohio); North Ridgeville City Schools (North Ridgeville, Ohio; River View Local Schools (Warsaw, Ohio); and Chesapeake High School (Chesapeake, Ohio).
“The Healthy Kids Initiative is very important to Health Action Council, and we’re glad that we can raise awareness for the initiative and host such a fun event at the same time,” said Patty Starr, President & CEO of Health Action Council. “Our champions donated their winnings to local schools, exemplifying our goal of forging a better and healthier community for the next generation.”
The winners of the outing were:
- 1st place: Nick Dettwiller, Mike Belpulsi, and Matt Ponting.
- 2nd place: Chuck Rinkes, Adam Pittis, Dan Leffingwell, and Dave Adams.
- 3rd place: Greg Sullivan, Evan Hall, Bryan Ward, and Tyler Marcum.
Challenges winners and prizes included:
- Melissa Arnold (Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics) won a Health Action Council Raffle Basket.
- Eric Wikham (Xtek) won a CVS Raffle Basket.
- Closest to the Pin – Ron Tisko won a Health Action Council blanket.
- Longest Drive – Jim Amsbarry won a Health Action Council blanket.
- Pink Ball – John Kronour, Bob Britton, Darrin Knapke, Monroe Britton, Todd Osborn, and Scott Moyer won Health Action Council jackets.

Health Action Council created the Healthy Kids Campaign to engage students and their families, employers, schools, and communities in promoting improved health and wellness.
