Health Action Council Announces A New Three-year Contract Extension With UnitedHealthcare

Health Action Council is pleased to announce a three-year contract extension with UnitedHealthcare, marking the continuation of an 11-year partnership. The new agreement promises even more exciting offerings for members of the organization. The agreement includes UMR for employers interested in a TPA.

A recent white paper produced by the two organizations found that companies who implement deliberate strategies around their employees’ most common chronic health conditions may improve overall employee health, yield cost savings over the long term, and develop engagement based on socioeconomic class.

“UnitedHealthcare has the history of being a successful partner and brings the promise of additional offerings and programs for prevention, healthier lifestyles, and consideration of socioeconomic issues,” said Patty Starr, President and CEO of Health Action Council. “We look forward to our continued partnership.”

The new agreement, effective 2022 through 2024, includes:

  • Annual caps on administrative fees

  • Growth and loyalty credit schedules

  • Continued service by the Advocate4Me Elite advocacy team

  • Improving total cost of care management with the addition of a dedicated clinical team:

    • A dedicated case management team

    • Designated social workers

  • Programs for Social Determinants of Health, including referrals to local resources and social index creation which integrations with the service team
