What We Do


Health Action Council recognizes that a company’s employees are its greatest asset – and that healthy employees are better able to contribute to a company’s success.

What began in 1983 – as a small informal group of Ohio-based benefits and HR professionals concerned with health care quality issues – has become a robust proactive organization dedicated to strengthening the vital connections between business and health.

With our expanded strategic focus we are reaching out to members and the community in new ways, but always viewed through the quality lens:

  • Providing educational programming on healthcare topics such as: transparency, wellbeing, SDOH, technology and specialty drug cost management
  • Hosting seminars on business topics such as fostering innovation, communicating more effectively and strengthening organizational design
  • Encouraging collaboration with endorsed vendors and the sharing of best practices among members
  • Spearheading efforts to improve care and reduce costs
  • Advocating and assisting with efforts to improve overall healthcare quality nationwide
  • Providing decision-support tools to help employer members choose the products and services that best fit their needs.

And as always, we will continue leveraging our group buying power to provide our 220+ member organizations with affordable, high-quality healthcare products that align with their corporate goals.
