One of the most common topics in employee wellness is battling obesity. With 1 in 5 children and 1 in 3 adults classified as obese, it is the most common chronic condition in the United States. A severely overweight employee can have a growing and costly list of other chronic conditions such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, joint problems, breathing problems, and gallbladder disease.

Medical expenses for obese employees are estimated to be 42 percent higher than for a person with a healthy weight. Addressing obesity can be an effective way for employers to reduce obesity and lower their healthcare costs, lower absenteeism and increase employee productivity. Employers are looking to a variety of partners to evaluate the myriad of ways to create a healthier workforce.

This webinar will outline the impact of obesity on employee health and employer costs and the options available to address them.
