Position Description:  The rotational program will provide participants with in-depth experiences, ongoing mentorship, and targeted training across a range of business areas within the organization. Program participants will work on a variety of project-based assignments across different departments and functions within Health Action Council’s four primary business areas: Education & Research, Health Improvement, Sales/Group Purchasing, and Operations.

This is up to a 12-month program located at Health Action Council’s headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio (length of program depends on participant level of experience). This is a full-time position and will require travel.

Once participants of the program have finished their full rotation, they will be evaluated for a permanent role within the organization.

Position Location:  Company headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio

Program Details: 
  • Participants will spend approximately 3 months within each designated business area
  • At the end of each rotation, participants will have a developmental check in:
    • Participants will present and report out to Health Action Council leadership on their key projects and outcomes
    • Participants will share findings as well as lessons learned
    • Participants will review areas of opportunity within specific department - new projects and ideas aligning with Health Action Council purpose and vision
  • At the end of the rotational program, participants will meet with Health Action Council leadership to present a cumulative review on their progress made within that year
  • Based on current openings and areas of interest from participant, he/she will be evaluated for a permanent role within the organization
  • Participants will be paired with a Health Action Council mentor to serve as an ongoing resource throughout the program
General Responsibilities: 
  • Education & Research
    • Support member education event planning and execution
      • Webinars
      • Monthly Newsletters
      • National Conference and Symposium 
    • Assist with updates and creation of new member content and tools on the Member Center section of the Health Action Council website
    • Help to facilitate projects to increase usage of Health Action U.
  • Health Improvement
    • Support and execute on Health Improvement initiatives:
      • Emergency Room redirection through FindTheRightCare.org
      • Hospital safety scores through partnership with Leapfrog
      • Children’s Health Weight Initiative through the Alliance for Healthier Generation 
      • Step-it-up Challenges
  • Sales/Group Purchasing 
    • Assist Sales and Member Engagement teams on key projects to further develop group purchasing opportunities and deepen current member relationships
    • Group purchasing products include: 
      • Pharmacy Benefit Management
      • Medical
      • Vision
      • Flu Shots
      • Online Learning Module (Health Action U.)
    • Attend vendor trainings and meetings 
  • Operations
    • Marketing
      • Support Health Action Council communication efforts
      • Contribute to the content development of various online communications tools
      • Help manage social media
      • Compile materials for events/meetings as necessary (including the National Conference and Symposium)
    • Administration
      • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms including:  Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter
  • Exposure to Salesforce and marketing automation is a plus
