Account Management/Sales

The Experience Leader is responsible for meeting business development goals by cultivating, engaging, and retaining relationships with external industry vendors/organizations through the Health Action Council Annual Supporter and Conference Sponsorship programs, and other fundraising opportunities.

The Leader will provide industry expertise and support connectivity of vendors, members, community, and internal staff. In addition, this role conducts ongoing market research to identify employee benefits ecosystem trends.

The Experience Leader will be comfortable developing and managing relationships with current industry vendors through a diverse set of outreach methods including but not limited to mail, email, voice, in-person meetings, industry meetings, community meetings, etc.  You will provide support and advisory services as necessary as well as educator and connector. Prior employee benefits experience or health insurance expertise is required.
The Experience Leader must ensure that a first-class experience is delivered to members, endorsed group purchasing partners, supporters, sponsors, staff, and all other parties. 

General Responsibilities:

  • Sell, retain, and service vendor partners for the Annual Supporter Program and available Sponsorship opportunities (Conference Sponsorships, Healthy Kids/Golf Event Sponsorships, etc.)

  • Network, identify and meet with vendor prospects to build relationships and learn about their solutions/areas of service

  • Be the primary relationship owner with Supporters and Sponsors to ensure they receive all related benefits and opportunities to promote their organization, gain exposure, and make valuable connections with staff and members

  • Serve as the program manager for all logistics/activities related to Supporters, Conference Sponsors, and Healthy Kids/Golf Event Sponsors

  • Perform ongoing market research to evaluate and analyze trends within the employee benefits healthcare ecosystem and share findings with Health Action Council staff to leverage for member/broker/consultant needs

  • Provide industry expertise/advise/collaboration where applicable

  • Raise funds for our cause and regularly meets or surpass fundraising targets

  • Research potential donors to gain insight into needs, beliefs, and donation habits to understand how to position our organization to them

  • Assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for our organization including but not limited to grants

  • Leverage technology and social media where possible to improve fundraising activites

  • Support the invoicing and accounts receivable process for Supporters and Sponsors

  • Document and manage work in CRM system (Salesforce) so that information is current, accurate, and reliable for reporting

  • Provide input for educational topics (webinars and conference speakers), messaging, and collateral development

  • Be a trusted neutral thought leader

  • Participate in community and industry-based events

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned or as needs arise

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • 3 years of professional benefits knowledge and related health insurance experience

  • Computer savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office suite

  • Professional demeanor and excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Tactful, courteous, and diplomatic

  • Demonstrated organizational skills

  • Problem-solving skills and service experience

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment

  • Team player

  • Grant research and proposal writing preferred

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel as required (subject to company’s travel policy)

  • May be required to work more than 8 hours

  • Must be available to work occasional off-hours

  • Must be available during standard business hours

  • Solid and reliable transportation mandatory

  • Must be available to travel and work a flexible schedule
