This position plays an instrumental role on the sales team, driving membership and product sales goals by assisting with sales activities and development and tracking of prospect and consultant relationships. In addition, this position supports our Group Purchasing team by managing Endorsed Vendors and developing new products for our members. Works in tandem with the sales team to execute the regional sales business plan and strategy. Helps favorably position Health Action Council as a known and valued business partner by supporting a compelling value proposition, clearly articulating points of differentiation to consultants and prospects.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Sales Support
Assist in the development of annual regional sales planning and tracking
Research and identify market opportunities
Create and direct market research analysis, including competitor and customer databases, market segment research, customer research and prospecting, each prospect’s incumbent relationships, acquisition targeting, and the market resource library
Develop systems and processes to analyze and track customer data, findings, and activities. Perform analysis and report sales strategy effectiveness
Attend sales meetings, provide expertise and input on industry tools and resources
Assist tracking RFPs through Vendor Partners to ensure deadlines are met
Support Business Solutions team to ensure non-disclosure agreements (NDA), PBM proposals, re-pricings, and disruption reports are delivered in a timely manner
Update and continually ensure the accuracy of prospect and consultant data in Salesforce
Work with Sales Team to proactively develop and maximize prospect and consultant relationships
Identify consulting group leaders and critical contacts
Gather and analyze market intelligence data to identify viable prospects and competitor positioning
Act as backup for Sales Team when not available
Answer questions from clients, prospects, and consultants
Stay informed about the status and developments of potential customers
Seek quick resolutions and answers to Sales Team and customer inquiries
Group Purchasing
Develop a strong knowledge of all Health Action Council Group Purchasing products, including, but not limited to, reviewing contracts, identifying key dates and elements requiring ongoing support, and ensuring compliance to contract terms
Provide the Business Solutions and Member Experience teams with group purchasing product training
Develop expertise for group purchasing contracts and become a partner to HAC employer-facing teams. Respond to questions about group purchasing vendors, especially regarding pharmacy benefits, handling claim repricing, developing pharmacy pricing workups, and managing the NDA process
Coordinate with Group Purchasing vendors to ensure they and Health Action Council are receiving the information necessary to be successful. This will include managing reporting, meetings, and travel
Manage the PBM implementation process to ensure all new Health Action Council Members receive a first-class experience. Identify and suggest improvements to vendors and to the VP of Business Solutions
Develop collegial relationships with internal partners to maximize resource productivity, improve output quality, develop tools, and provide input on products. Ensure HAC is delivering best-in-class to the marketplace
QUALIFICATIONS:
2-4 years business experience, with 1 year experience in healthcare required
Business acumen and basic understanding of sales process
Strong project management skills (2+ years project management experience)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
