Start Walking…the Health Action Council’s Spring and Summer Step It Up Challenges Announced

February 10, 2020

Health Action Council is announcing the dates for the Spring and Summer Step It Up Challenge. Spring Challenge is from March 23-April 5 and Summer Challenge is from June 15-June 28. The Step It Up Challenge, sponsored by Fitbit, is a turnkey program that brings all of the benefits of a step program without all of the management hassles. Health Action Council welcomes a team of participants (at least two), who want to engage in some healthy competition.

“Health Action Council created the ‘Step It Up Challenge to encourage our members, supporters, sponsors, community partners and friends to engage in a friendly competition that promotes health and well-being,” said Patty Starr, President and CEO of Health Action Council. “This is one of many ways that we encourage improved health in businesses and their surrounding communities.”

Reigning champs, Soul Steppers from Toledo is sending out a challenge to all participants. Last year, Soul Stepper’s team averaged 25,723 steps per day.

Taking the challenge? Go to healthactioncouncil.or/stepitup. For questions, contact David Phillips at [email protected] or call 216.236.0364. Members and non-members are welcome. Don’t have Fitbit? No worries, there are other ways to track steps per day.

The team with the highest number of average steps gets lunch for up to 50 people ($500 value) and a $500 donation made in their name to a school garden project or local Ronald McDonald House. The individual with the highest number of steps wins a brand new Ionic Fitbit.
