Whole Person / Whole Community Approach to Employee Health and Wellbeing

Presented by:
Tanya Stewart, MD, MBA, Founder, i2We Consulting & Investment
Stacey Lindau, MD, MA, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Medicine-Geriatrics, The University of Chicago

The conditions in which our employees are born, live, work, play and age are considered social determinants of health. These conditions inform our employee's individual socioeconomic risk factors.

Understanding these conditions and risk factors, and considering ways to mitigate them, supports a whole person and whole community approach to employee health and wellbeing.

In this session we explore the background, barriers and pitfalls, as well as offer solutions for employers to consider when accounting for socioeconomic risk in trying to build a thriving workplace.

What we'll discuss:

  • The role of social determinants impacting employment
  • Overview of employer thinking regarding employee health, wellbeing and productivity
  • Tactics to build healthy, thriving communities that support employees working on site or at home
