Your benefits program is more than a part of overall compensation or a budget line item. Benefits are an investment in people and provide value, not just ROI. Some benefits offer a clear monetary value within a short period of time and make adopting them an easy choice for employers, But value on investment (VOI) is more difficult to measure. The VOI is the intangible assets that contribute heavily to an organization’s success. Value may be developing and deepening talent, creating a more resilient workforce, attracting quality employees or positioning yourself as a market leader. So when employers consider adding benefits like identity theft coverage, legal and pet insurance, and student loan repayment programs, a traditional ROI conversation might be replaced with one on VOI.
