A catastrophe is any unexpected event that causes great suffering or damage. When you learn of a new illness for one of your employees, do you have the capacity to set them up with an advocate or a care navigator to help direct them to appropriate, quality care? What do we do in these situations?

When it comes to maximizing resources, Vanilla Ice had the right idea, you need to “stop, collaborate, and listen.” What we mean is before feeding money into existing programs in the system (ones that may not have as positive of an impact as you would ultimately like), take a step back and do some investigating. Whether you are just starting the journey or have been at it for 30 years, it’s important to know that there are others thinking about the same issues and also trying to find a way to make a difference.
